This super limited EP release were originally supposed to be for promotional use only, since DISCPLACER are playing NXNE and Kinetik festivals 2013. However, we are happy to have received a very limited amount that are destined for sale.
The very gifted Toronto-based act is the solo electronic project of Michael Morton, who once started out on MUTE Records’ ’Pre-Set New Electronic Music’in 2003. Selected from the best demos received during that year, the track “Deep” garnished the attention of France M-Tronic Records, on which he released 3 albums. In 2008 he signed to the USA label Tympanik Audio and released 3 more albums, before signing to German Hymen/Ant-Zen last year, on which he released his 7th and newest album ‘Foundation’.
Now, with so much happening on the ambient side of Displacer, he thought it was about time for some new beats. Some of these tracks began over a year ago, and some newer for a United Electronic Audio Workers performance in Toronto this past winter. Gritty basses and modular experiments are the backbone of these cursed groovy breakbeat & drum&bass inspired tracks.
