With his most recent masterpiece, "Dixanadu", the exceptional artist Mana has created an ideological manifesto which on the one hand laments the superficiality of the world but at the same time finds hope in the knowledge that the power to be able to create our own paradise lies dormant within every person. "Dixanadu - Fated 'raison d'étre'" presents in concert the ingenious compositions which blend gothic, metal, neo-classical and electronic elements into a unique mixture of melody and strength and shows why Moi Dix Mois can be counted as being one of the most exciting live acts in the darkwave scene. At eight stopping-off points in six different countries, from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean, Mana, Seth, K, Sugiya and Hayato resurrect the fairytale world of "Dixanadu" with unbridled energy and precision and again effortlessly captivate their audience. The crowning glory and main feature of the DVD is the dynamic finale in the full-to-bursting Elysée Montmartre in Paris, which is shown in its entirety. For almost one and a half hours, Moi Dix Mois, in their extravagant costumes which were designed by band leader Mana, bring the crowd to the boil with hard guitar riffs, furious beats and classical spinet and organ sounds augmented by opulent lighting effects. With regard to technology, no expense was spared: the live recording, lavishly produced with several cameras and scaffolds allows each moment of the performance to be experienced at close range. In addition to the finale in the "City of Lights" the DVD presents footage which consists of concert excerpts and backstage recordings from all dates of the tour, which show an unexpected humorous side to Moi Dix Mois. Also including audio commentary from the band members with a choice of English or German subtitles. "Dixanadu - Fated 'raison d'étre'" has a total running time of 152 minutes and is released in a glossy A5 digipak in a slipcase with complementary, atmospheric artwork as well as a 16-page booklet with exclusive live photos.
