With a perfect sound and authentic festival atmosphere, the sextet proves that they can rock the masses unplugged and with traditional tunes. Fans of Saltatio Mortis have been waiting for such a live record for years, but also fans of rock songs will not be disappointed, as Saltatio Mortis perfectly combines classic tunes with their very own rock repertoire including "Equinox", "Prometheus", and the fan-favorite "Spielmannsschwur". Bagpipes, shawms, drums, and traditional string instruments such as the cittern, nyckelharpa, and hurdy-gurdy create a very characteristic and unique sound. The decision to release a live recording instead of an acoustic studio album was a conscious one: Medieval market music needs to be played in front of a live audience to create its special atmosphere. 8000 enthusiastic fans were willing to be transported by Saltatio Mortis into a lively and archaic sonic sphere and in return deliver the energy for this one-of-a-kind festival atmosphere.
