Bei Unfall handelt es sich um eine ganz besondere Veröffentlichung. IAMX-Mastermind Chris Corner betrachtet "Unfall" als das erste einer Reihe experimenteller Alben. Der ehemalige Sneaker-Pimps-Musiker hat als Titel absichtlich sein Remix-Alias gewählt, um seine instrumentale und abstrakte künstlerische Seite auszuleben. Abseits irgendwelcher Pop-Radioformate agiert Chris in einem Bereich, der Fans von Underground-Dance bis Industrial begeistern wird. "I want to produce something that takes me someplace otherworldly and not connected to a song structure or selling records in a certain way", fasst Chris seine Intention zusammen. "Unfall"-Gäste sind u.a. Jim Abbiss (Adele, Ladytron, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys) und GoGo´s-Sängerin/Gitarristin Jane Wiedlin. Ein "reguläres" neues IAMX-Album ist für Januar 2018 geplant.
